CLICO Bailout [Video]

...Asking Ourselves The Hard Questions And Expecting Answers

Via the blog, AfraRaymond.com.

Posted today on Afra Raymond's blog, the video of TV6's Morning Edition 7 December 2010 interview about the code of silence surrounding the CLICO bailout. Hosts, Fazeer Mohammed and Felipe Noguiera have a discussion with Afra Raymond.

A brilliant response to a brilliant question by Fazeer Mohammed at mark 13:06:
Fazeer Mohammed: But what are the consequences to the society if the elites are staying silent on this matter?

Afra Raymond: You see, it's a matter of human development and social development because what we are discussing is, "What is the consequence of an absence of consequence?" We live in a society where there has been an absence of consequence for far too long. We see the results every day in our newspapers and they are not pretty, OK? The absence of consequence is in fact inimical to true development whether we are discussing personal development or national development. We have to have consequences. The reality of consequences is a proper part of adulthood and our nation is trying to go towards adulthood.
