WHO WILL GUARD THE GUARDS?
By King Austin

Within every system there are rules and laws
And those who enforce them obviously because
Love in the hierarchy is non-significant
So we find it necessary and highly important
To guard our civil rights and surround this world
Just a few bewildered knights who got full control
But if it is we fear to trust some guardians there to protect us
Question for the lads - Who going to guard these guards?
The armies, navies and air forces, look, the KGB's and the petty bosses
CIA's and Scotland Yard's - Who going to guard these guards?
The chiefs of security must be in a quandary
This question is the hardest of hards - Who going to guard these guards?

What a shocking factor to read in the news
About one commander who could light the fuse
Or push the red button on that computer
That could cause a chain reaction and damage the future
Using our Treasuries we have made them strong
Creating authorities as we move along
But knowing power develops and absolute power corrupts
Question for the lads - Who going to guard these guards?
The royalties and the governments, look, the many houses of parliaments
The cassar of the guards - Who going to guard these guards? Yes.
Question for the fanatics advocating politics
In the face of failing standards - Who going to guard these guards?

Guardians of the cities, guardians of the air
Guardians over land and seas, here and everywhere
Just like the steady beat of a metronome
We have become quite obsessed with the militant syndrome
To attain dependencies, we have conjured up
A chain of ascendancies reaching at the top
But if it is this whole charade depends upon rank and grade
Question for the lads - Who going to guard these guards?
The administrators of state defence, the many kinds of intelligence
The espionage ------------- - Who going to guard these guards? Yes.
Shall it be the guerillas, the religious ministers?
Or the professors from Harvard? - Who going to guard these guards?

PROGRESS

Today, when I look around in the world what do I see?
I see footprints that man have left on the sand while walking through time.
I see fruits of our ambitions, figments of our imagination
And I ask myself, "When will it end? When will it end?"
It is plain to see, universally, this land is not bountiful as it was
Simply because, in his quest for success nothing stands in man's way.
Old rivers run dry, soon the birds won't fly, the mountains will be no longer high
And when I really think of it, yes, I does wonder why, oh why?

I see charity deplored, equal rights totally ignored
Wisdom and ingenuity working in accord simply to afford
Such inventions as thermonuclear warfare and environmental warfare
And I wonder now, "Where do we go from here?"
Prophets everywhere gaze upon the horizon and declare that judgment will come
And the savage hands of unscrupulous men defile everything pass by.
Time is running out as we eat and drink species at the brink of being extinct, yeah
And I think no one can deny that the price of progress is high, really, really high.

I see consciousness abate, as today we live recklessly
Money make egos inflate and thereby create a turbulent state.
I see a struggle between the sexes, new hang-ups and old complexes
Now the question is right in context, ”What shall be next?
I’ve already seen this world have come divided
Between race, colour, creed and class
And some of the things the scripture predict how it truthfully come to pass
Soil that wouldn't bear, children making children to be a part of this growing mass
And I ask, “If this is progress, lord, how long would it last?
How long would it last? How long would it last?
"

I see craziness increase, bogus priest and corrupt police
No peace, the struggle don't cease as man turn to drug searching for relief
I see a frightened humanity, a sad and confused society
And it saddens me. How shall it be in time to come?
Can this world withstand this constant misuse and abuse by the hands of man
As they try to shape this world in a way to fit in with all their plans
Time is running out as we eat and drink species at the brink of being extinct, yes
And I think no one can deny that the price of progress is high, real high.

A Note From The Gull

Thank you King Austin! Bowing and bowing and bowing before your quiet, unassuming brilliance.

Government of the people, this is only part of the national treasure over which you preside...the beautiful, beautiful souls of our people, the ageless spirit of this land, the pulsating, restless genius that moves through and around us all. We are trusting you to treat it and us with care and reverence.

"Patria est communis omnium parens" - Our native land is the common parent of us all. Keep it beautiful, make it even more so.

Blessed is all of creation
Blessed be my beautiful people
Blessed be the day of our awakening
Blessed is my country
Blessed are her patient hills.

Mweh ka allay!
