CHRISTMAS IN T&T
By Kelwyn Hutcheon
You haven't spent Christmas 'til you've spent Christmas here in sweet T&T
No, haven't spent Christmas 'til you and yours have seen these isles in the sea
Smell the pastelle and ham, hear sweet parang jam, they'll light up your life
A lime with family and friends, try our local blends - a cure for all strife
These lovely twin islands, no other place on this wide earth can compare
The sounds of the steelpan like nothing else for sure you ever will hear
Come to visit these shores, forget toil, care and chores
Come spend Christmas in this land I love.
Smell that pastelle and ham, oh, sweet, sweet parang jam, they'll light up your life
A lime with family and friends, try our local blends - a cure for all strife
These lovely twin islands, no other place on this wide earth can compare
The sounds of the steelpan like nothing else for sure you ever will hear
Come to visit these shores, forget toil, toil, care and chores
Come, spend Christmas in this land I love
A magical Christmas with the one you, you love.
Source: The lyrics posted on this blog are often transcribed directly from performances. Although it is my intention to faithfully transcribe I do not get all the words and I have a knack for hearing the wrong thing. Please feel free to correct me or to fill in the words that I miss by dropping me a message via e-mail. I'd be forever grateful. Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Kelwyn Hutcheon.
"Patria est communis omnium parens" - Our native land is the common parent of us all. Keep it beautiful, make it even more so.
Blessed is all of creation
Blessed be my beautiful people
Blessed be the day of our awakening
Blessed is my country
Blessed are her patient hills.
Mweh ka allay!
