DONKEY CITY
By Sir Lancelot with Gerald Clark's Caribbean Serenaders [1944]

Ah, I went to Donkey City to exercise mih Donkey
And mih Donkey walked up to a Mule
So the Mule said to the Donkey,
"Saga boy, now don't you molest me
Donkey whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

"'Cause you're nothing but a Donkey, aha
Just a silly old Donkey, aha
And I don't like a Donkey, aha
When it's looking so funny, aha."
So the Mule said to the Donkey,
"Saga boy, now don't you molest me
Donkey, whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

I went to Morvant city with mih Uncle Willy
And mih uncle met a Yankee girl
So the girl said, "Uncle Willy,
Saga boy, now don't you molest me.
Uncle, whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

"'Cause you nothing but a Donkey
Just a silly old Donkey
And I don't like a Donkey
When he ent got no money."
So the girl said, "Uncle Willy,
Saga boy, now don't you molest me
Uncle, whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

So mih uncle Willy feeling rather silly
Whispered sweetly to the Yankee girl,
"Now although I ent got no money
Still in all, I love you, mih honey."
But she said, "No! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

"'Cause you nothing but a Donkey
Just a silly old Donkey, aha
And I don't like a Donkey, aha
When its looking so funny, aha."
So the girl said, "Uncle Willy,
Saga boy, now don't you molest me
Uncle, whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

Now you've heard my story of mih Uncle Willy
Of the Mule, the Donkey and the girl
Now, if you don't like my story,
It's too bad 'cause I got your money
"Uncle, whoa! Don't bother me now, I tell you."

Although it is my intention to faithfully transcribe I do not get all the words and I have a knack for hearing the wrong thing. A Note From The Gull

Thank you, Sir Lancelot.

"Patria est communis omnium parens" - Our native land is the common parent of us all. Keep it beautiful, make it even more so.

Blessed is all of creation
Blessed be my beautiful people
Blessed be the day of our awakening
Blessed is my country
Blessed are her patient hills.

Mweh ka allay!
