MR. HONKEY
By Lord Kitchener
Big, big trouble come hear it, it ent me and I 'fraid
A male Donkey fo' day morning, running wild in Cascade
An Englishman was then passing, he say, "Why this Donkey should roam?"
"Poor animal starving." so he decided to take it home.
The Donkey bawl...
"Take me back where you find me, I'm sorry, Mister Honkey
I didn't ask anybody for sympathy, you better make your son take me
I don't want no confusion, so help me, is that I say
The same place you find me, take me right back down dey!"
The Englishman start to tremble, the man frighten for so
To hear a Donkey talking English is no joke, as you know
So he sneak inside of his parlour to make a telephone call
He see the Donkey changing colour and growing tall, tall, tall,
And bawling..
"Take me back where you find me, I'm sorry, Mister Honkey
I didn't ask anybody for sympathy, you better make your son take me
I don't want no confusion, so help me, is that I say
The same place you find me, take me right back down dey!"
More trouble for honkey, the man out of his mind
When he see a big, fat Hen with Chicken running behind
So he run and open the back door, attempting to jump the wall
In the dark, he hear the voice of the Donkey, "Mister, mind you fall!"
"Take me back where you find me, I'm sorry, Mister Honkey
I didn't ask anybody for sympathy, you better make your son take me
I don't want no confusion, so help me, is that I say
The same place you find me, take me right back down dey!"
Poor Englishman bawling, "No! Anything else instead!"
When the Donkey tell him, "Take off your clothes and lie down in bed."
So he turn and said to the Donkey, "Please tell me, do I have to?"
The Donkey say, "Doh worry, I coming to lie with you."
"Take me back where you find me, I'm sorry, Mister Honkey
I didn't ask anybody for sympathy, you better make your son take me
I don't want no confusion so help me, is that I say
The same place you find me, take me right back down dey!"
Source: The lyrics posted on this blog are often transcribed directly from performances. Although it is my intention to faithfully transcribe I do not get all the words and I have a knack for hearing the wrong thing. Please feel free to correct me or to fill in the words that I miss by dropping me a message via e-mail. I'd be forever grateful. Thanks in advance!

A Note From The Gull
Thank you, Lord Kitchener.
"Patria est communis omnium parens" - Our native land is the common parent of us all. Keep it beautiful, make it even more so.
Blessed is all of creation
Blessed be my beautiful people
Blessed be the day of our awakening
Blessed is my country
Blessed are her patient hills.
Mweh ka allay!
