DAN IS THE MAN
By the Mighty Sparrow

Captain! There's a traitor on board! Examine the horns!

According to the education you get when you small,
You will grow up with true ambition and respect from one and all.
But in my days in school, they teach me like a fool
The things they teach me, I should be a block-headed mule.

And wey dey teach yuh?

They tell mih, Pussy has finished his work long ago
And now he resting and ting
Solomon a Gundy was born on a Monday,
The ass in the lion skin
Wynken, Blynken, and Nod sail off in a wooden sloop
The 'gouti lose he tail and the alligator fighting
To make monkey-liver soup
And Dan is the man in the van.

Wipsee, Mama!

The poems and the lessons they write and send from England
Impress me they were trying to cultivate comedians
Comic books made more sense,
You know it is fictitious without pretense.
Cutteridge wanted to keep us in ignorance.

Tell me if this ent chupidness:
Humpty-Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty-Dumpty did fall
Goosey, Goosey Gander, where shall I wander?
Ding, dong, dell, pussy in the well
R-I-K-K-I  T-I-K-K-I Ah T-Ah-V
Ah Rikki, Tikki, Tikki-Tikki, Tavi
Dan is the man in the van.

Wipsee Mama! Yep!

I say, Cutteridge was plenty times more advanced than them scientist,
I ent believe that no one man could write so much stupidness.
Aeroplanes didn't come so soon, scientists used to make the grade in balloon.
Cutteridge make a cow jump over the moon.

And then he tell them, Tom, Tom, the Piper's son, tief a pig and away he run
Once there was a woman who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children, she didn't know what to do
Hickory, Dickory, Dock, the mouse ran up the clock
The lion and the mouse, a woman pushing a cow
To eat grass on top of a house
Mama, Dan, is the man in the van.

Ayeeee! Wipsee, Mama!

How I happen to get some education, my friends, me ent know
All they teach me is about Brer Rabbit and Rumpelstiltskin-o
They wanted to keep me down indeed, they try their best, but didn't succeed
You see, mih head was duncee and up to now I can't read.

Who cares about, Peter, Peter was a pumpkin eater
Some little, little people tie Gulliver
When I was sick and lay a-bed, I had two pillow at my head
The goose lay the golden egg
The spider catch a fly
Morocoy with wings flapping in the sky
They beat me like a dog to learn that in school,
If mih head was bright, I woulda be a damn fool.
With Dan is the man in the van.

Can a pig dance a jig for a fig?
Twirly and Twisty were two screws.
Mister Mike goes to school on a bike.
Dan is the man in the van
Dan is the man in the van
Ey! Dan is the man in the van.

Mix-up Matrimony [Song]

MIX-UP MATRIMONY
By Lord Beginner

With racial segregation, I can see universally, fading gradually
With racial segregation, I can see universally, fading gradually
Mix marriage is the fashion and the world is saying so
Lovers choosing partners of every kind they know
This is freedom from above, so what they thinking of
Is to grab the one that they love.

The organs are always playing and the parsons are saying,
"Incorporate and amalgamate."
Marriages are fixing and the races are mixing
"Incorporate and amalgamate."

Long ago it was so difficult to see two different race in matrimony
A Chinee man never used to change his life
Until he get a Chinee girl for his wife
Now, any colour is a colour, any race is a race
Life is short so they mean to embrace
This is real equality, human rights, as I see, with this mix-up matrimony.

The organs are always playing and the preachers are saying,
"Incorporate and amalgamate."
Be holding together before it's too late
"Incorporate and amalgamate."

Racial segregation gone to hell, the happenings nowadays can tell
Mix marriage seems to have a stronger tie than the pure one
For I don't know why
The races are blending harmoniously
White and coloured people are binding neutrally
It doesn't take no glass to see how it come to pass
Coloured Britons are rising fast.

The organs are always playing and the preachers are saying,
"Incorporate and amalgamate."
Though some are seeing well and others catching hell
"Incorporate and amalgamate."

The great part that Seretse Khama played,
We appreciate the move that he made
The Bamangwato tribe he always thinking of
He lost his throne for the girl he love
For he knew that a good wife today is hard to find
So he find one, so he had to treat her kind
So if you are in your prime, run to the preacher anytime
For who you love, it is not a crime.

The organs are always playing and the preachers are saying,
"Incorporate and amalgamate."
Marriages are fixing and the races are mixing
"Incorporate and amalgamate."

Nobody wants to grow Old [Song]

Uploaded by finetunes Jazz

NOBODY WANTS TO GROW OLD
By Lord Beginner

Like the ladies universally made a vow
Making up and painting up is all the fashion now
Like the ladies universally made a vow
Making up and painting up is all the fashion now
They are dying their hair and bleaching their face
They are building hips and reducing waist
It is difficult to say as you go along your way
To tell the old from the young today

Nobody want to get old at all
The old age pension may be too small
Nobody want to get old at all.

A woman is so beautiful with plenty hair
But now they shaving it and cutting it here and there
They don't like their eyelashes for they cuts them small
They are painting up their fingers and their toes and all
They have the different colour wigs to suit each head
And they takes them off at night when they going to bed
Some will say is curious, the faces now are dangerous
The complexions are numerous.

Nobody want to get old at all
I see them all 'round the dancing hall
Nobody want to get old at all.

It is true this modern makeup, you can plainly see
That old women got this comeback opportunity
They are hiding up their wrinkles and their grey hair too
They are polishing their eyebrows and they're looking new
The young and old are painting up, goodness knows
And you can hardly tell the difference when you see them pose
This modern age is full of strife with this kind of makeup life
It is hell now to find a wife.

Nobody want to get old at all
Seems like Peter will pay for Paul
Nobody want to get old at all.
