Psalm 15: 1-5
1 Lord, who shall be admitted to Your tent? And dwell on Your holy mountain?
2 He who walks without fault, he who acts with justice and speaks the truth from his heart;
3 he who does not slander with his tongue, he who does no wrong to his brother,
4 who holds the Godless in disdain, but honors those who fear the Lord;
he who keeps his pledge, come what may
5 who takes no interest on a loan and accepts no bribes against the innocent.
Such a man will stand firm forever.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be,
forever. Amen.
2 Chronicles 20:13-15, 17
13 Meanwhile all Judah stood before the Lord,
with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
14 Then the spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel son of Zechariah, son of Benaiah,
son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the middle of the assembly.
15 He said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat:
Thus says the Lord to you:
‘Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude;
for the battle is not yours but God’s.
‘Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude;
for the battle is not yours but God’s.
17 This battle is not for you to fight;
take your position, stand still,
and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’
Do not fear or be dismayed;
tomorrow go out against them,
and the Lord will be with you.”
take your position, stand still,
and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’
Do not fear or be dismayed;
tomorrow go out against them,
and the Lord will be with you.”
